SpinLab and ExciteLab are entering into a strategic partnership with the boOst Startup Factory. Together, they aim to bring research-based startups in Central Germany from science to market more quickly and connect them with customers, industry partners and investors.
The cooperation combines three key building blocks for successful startups: SpinLab’s startup and scaling experience, ExciteLab’s transfer and technology expertise, and the boOst Startup Factory’s regional network of universities, research institutions, industry partners, and investors. Together, the partners aim to connect founding teams at an earlier stage with relevant markets, pilot customers, investors, and industrial application partners.

Eric Weber, founder and CEO of SpinLab, says: “We have been supporting boOst Startup Factory since the idea and application phase, as it was very important to us that Central Germany be successfully represented in this competition. Following boOst’s successful launch, we are continuing our collaboration with partners such as TUD AG, the Startup Campus Alliance around the local universities, Stiftung Kuchen, and are now moving into the implementation phase. In addition to the newly agreed collaboration within the framework of our Saxon accelerator programs, this also includes further intensifying our involvement in the MACHN Festival, which we have been supporting for years.”
“Deep-tech startups rarely fail because of the quality of their technology, but often because of a lack of market access, long development cycles, and the right financing. This is exactly where our partnership comes in: we contribute our accelerator know-how, our investor network, and our experience in working with companies to help startups become scalable more quickly,” says ExciteLab Managing Director Alexander Türpe.
“With SpinLab and ExciteLab, we are relying on experienced and renowned partners who support deep-tech startups from different perspectives. Through this strategic collaboration, we can strengthen our programs in Dresden and Leipzig in a targeted way and accept additional startup teams,” explains Marco Weicholdt, Managing Director of the boOst Startup Factory.
The partnership comes at a time when the transfer of research into scalable business models is becoming increasingly important for the competitiveness of Germany as a business location. With its research landscape, industrial base, and growing startup infrastructure, Central Germany has strong conditions for becoming more internationally visible, particularly in areas such as semiconductor technology, photonics, health tech, and industrial technologies.
