SpinLab designs and delivers bootcamps, a 3-5 day long format for startups, on behalf of institutional partners: from EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) to corporate innovation units, industry networks and public funders. Bootcamps are a proven format within SpinLab's broader Innovation Ecosystem Building portfolio, alongside incubators, accelerators, company builders and innovation hubs. This article gives an overview of the bootcamp programs SpinLab has delivered and is currently running, for organisations evaluating SpinLab as a program partner.
The current portfolio covers international bootcamps, e.g. built with institutions of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT), and national bootcamp programs operated for commercial customers like Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen or in-house by the SpinLab Group, helping Central and Eastern European (CEE) startups enter the German market. Both tracks build on a ten-year history of delivering bootcamps and incubations across Europe, with past projects in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Spain and Azerbaijan. All programs follow the same principle: short, intensive formats with concrete outputs and direct access to investors, corporates or public-sector buyers.
International Bootcamps Delivered for EIT Institutions
The European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) is an EU body that operates sector-specific innovation networks, known as Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs). Each KIC brings together startups, corporates, universities and research institutions within a given sector. SpinLab acts as a program-delivery partner for two of these KICs and delivered four bootcamps for them.
EIT Health: Venture Capital Training for Health Startups in Vienna
Client: EIT Health Community, one of Europe's largest health innovation networks, with more than 150 partner organisations.
Format: Three one-week bootcamps in Vienna in 2023 and 2024 on venture capital and financing strategies.
Participants per cohort: 10 to 20 health startups, nominated through EIT Health and its partner network.
Each bootcamp was designed as a high-intensity program: five days of work with the startups on pitching, financial models, cap tables, investor targeting, and negotiation logic. On site, every cohort was supported by three to four SpinLab coaches who act as both high-caliber speakers in keynote and workshop sessions and as hands-on mentors between them; each with first-hand operational experience from venture capital and corporate finance.
The program closed with a pitch event in front of 10 to 20 investors from the Austrian VC ecosystem. Post-program evaluations from both participating startups and attending investors were consistently strong across all three cohorts.
SpinLab's delivery scope for EIT Health:
· complete project management
· participant onboarding
· agenda and curriculum design
· coach deployment
· investor acquisition
· pitch event execution
EIT Urban Mobility: B2G Sales in Barcelona
Client: EIT Urban Mobility: the EU-level KIC for urban mobility innovation.
Format: Three-day bootcamp in Barcelona in 2024, held in parallel with the Tomorrow Mobility World Congress.
Theme: B2G sales: selling mobility solutions to public-sector buyers such as cities, municipalities, transport authorities and infrastructure operators.
Three SpinLab coaches guided the participating mobility startups through the full B2G sales funnel over three working days: stakeholder mapping, procurement fundamentals, pilot design and first direct conversations with prospective public-sector customers on the congress floor.
National Bootcamps Operated In-House: CEE Market Entry into Germany
Alongside programs delivered for institutional clients, the SpinLab Group has designed and launched in-house bootcamp programs that address market entry into Germany for Central and Eastern European (CEE) startups. These programs demonstrate SpinLab's end-to-end capability to build new bootcamp formats. From curriculum design through participant acquisition to ecosystem activation, independently of a commissioning client.
All three programs cover the core hurdles of market entry into Germany:
-
Legal framework: Company structures, contract law, sector-specific regulation
-
Tax aspects: VAT, permanent-establishment logic, compliance
-
Sales culture: How German corporates buy, decision-making processes, contract practice
-
Ecosystem access: Introductions to German industry networks, investors and potential customers
The programs operate on a self-pay model: participating startups finance their own participation. Each cohort takes 5 to 10 startups.

What SpinLab Brings as a Bootcamp Partner
"Institutions work with us on bootcamps because they need two things: measurable outcomes for the participating startups, and a partner who takes the operational load off their table from day one. That is the standard we design every format against." Dr Eric Weber, Managing Director and Founder of SpinLab
Three capabilities define every program we deliver:
1. End-to-end project management. SpinLab runs the full operational scope of a bootcamp: concept design, curriculum development, participant selection, logistics, coach deployment, stakeholder activation and evaluation, so that commissioning institutions stay focused on the strategic side.
2. A senior coaching bench with speaker-level authority. Each cohort is supported by three to four SpinLab coaches who deliver keynote and workshop sessions as senior subject-matter speakers and work one-on-one with startups between them. Every coach brings first-hand operational experience from venture capital, B2B or B2G sales or corporate development.
3. Stakeholder access as program content. Every bootcamp closes with direct access to the right counterparts: investors at a pitch event, corporate decision-makers or public-sector buyers at congress meetings. Access is brought in through SpinLab's own ecosystem.
Commissioning a Bootcamp with SpinLab
Across both tracks, every bootcamp draws on the same delivery infrastructure: a senior coaching and speaker bench, an active investor and corporate network, proven and documented processes, and a project team that handles the full operational scope end-to-end.
Institutions, KICs, corporate innovation units, industry networks and public funders evaluating SpinLab as a bootcamp partner can explore the full format portfolio on the Innovation Ecosystem Building page or reach the project team directly at info@spinlab.co. Formats range from a single three-day intensive to multi-cohort programs delivered over a year or longer, designed around the outcomes a partner wants to achieve with their startup cohort.
