All new SpinLab startups at a glance

bitteiler

bitteiler develops an innovative communication platform that enables efficient and secure data management for large IoT systems. The solution promises to reduce the amount of data generated by sensors before transmission by up to 90%. This results in significant cost savings in data transmission and storage. Furthermore, our technology plays a crucial role in reducing energy consumption, presenting itself as a sustainable solution supporting industries in their journey towards digital transformation.

Breathment

Breathment enables digital therapies for patients suffering from chronic respiratory diseases by combining an AI-assisted mobile therapy app with software for remote monitoring and teletherapy. With this approach and medical professionals, Breathment offers digital prevention and rehabilitation programs for health insurance companies, aiming to provide patients access to treatment, reduce hospital stays, and save costs for health insurers.

Brandenburg Labs

Brandenburg Labs develops headphone-based, immersive audio solutions for a captivating listening experience. Founded by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karlheinz Brandenburg, co-developer of the mp3 format, the company benefits from a broad network and extensive expertise in basic and applied research. Their focus lies in advancing the concept of "Personalized Auditory Realities (PARty)" for intelligent wearables. These aim to minimize background noises, enhance focus on desired sound sources, and create authentic spatial audio. The committed team utilizes deep expertise in audio technology to bridge the gap between the digital and real world through immersive sound, maximizing the potential of human hearing.

HeatVentors

HeatVentors enables energy efficiency and savings of 20-50%. Through their patented intelligent thermal battery with central data recording and monitoring software, HeatVentors simplifies storing thermal energy from -30°C to 120°C, similar to an electrical battery. The patented thermal battery seamlessly integrates into all HVAC installations, managing industrial waste and process energy, making district heating networks more flexible, and enabling maximum energy independence for multi-tenant buildings.

LipoCheck

LipoCheck is the first AI-assisted health platform utilized by lipedema patients and medical professionals to detect, document, provide care, and better understand lipedema. Every 10th woman suffers from lipedema, and these women often encounter ignorance, misdiagnosis, long waiting times, and insufficient medical care. We aim to change this to offer affected women a better quality of life and alleviate the burden on the healthcare system.

LOKK

LOKK develops an analytical online platform for cities that brings together various planning processes and stakeholders. This platform enables automatic linking and tailored evaluation of spatial data, visualizing results in a city model. This keeps all involved parties updated and allows them to contribute their own data, comments, or project proposals at any time.

PolymerActive

At PolymerActive, our mission is to conserve essential resources and redesign the circular economy. We develop innovative and affordable pollutant filters from plastic waste to remove chemical contaminants such as hormones, pharmaceutical residues, and pesticides from wastewater and exhaust air. Our technology withstands pollution and age-related structural damage to plastics. These filters do not need disposal but remain in circulation for at least one additional lifecycle. With our solution, we clean water and air, reduce ubiquitous plastic waste, and create a CO2-saving filter alternative to activated carbon.

Streamcheck

Urological preventive examinations are often neglected, which can lead to early signs of illnesses going undetected. Streamcheck allows men from the age of 35 to conveniently conduct important examinations from home. The Streamcheck device collects information about urine flow, volume and duration, as well as biochemical data. This information is stored in the Streamcheck app and analyzed for changes through AI-based analysis. This enables the early detection of potential signs of bladder or kidney diseases to initiate preventive measures.

Unbound Potential

Unbound Potential is developing, constructing, and scaling a new membraneless redox-flow battery. The startup's redox-flow batteries optimize ion exchange through 3D optimization of the interface between both electrolytes, leading to cost reduction and increased efficiency. The team's approach is not limited to a specific cell chemistry, but can be utilized as a platform technology for a variety of electrolytes.

OLIMENT

OLIMENT is working on a sustainable alternative for concrete production. Instead of using the conventionally carbon-intensive limestone, OLIMENT relies on the use of carbon-free olivine. Olivine is a mineral that occurs naturally in large quantities and represents a promising solution to reduce the environmental impact of concrete production
