International exit for Spinlab Alumnus Replex

Oct 25, 2021 4:52:32 PM

The startup Replex is acquired by the US IT corporation Cisco. The world market leader in network infrastructure and security acquires the entire shares of the Leipzig-based startup, which develops solutions for optimizing cloud applications.

Replex is the only governance and cost management platform purpose built for modern cloud native infrastructure. It gives Finance and Cloud Managers a comprehensive view of total spend across the organization’s infrastructure with granular insights into applications and individual teams, while empowering developers and operators to rightsize resources for optimal spend without sacrificing performance.

General Manager Linda Tong explains in the press release :“The acquisition of replex will help AppDynamics grow its product and engineering talent with a view toward accelerating and expanding product capabilities that observe enterprise-scale, cloud-native environments. Replex’s deep expertise in Kubernetes, real-time data extraction and analytics will further strengthen AppDynamics’ world-class product and engineering team as we accelerate the delivery of Cisco’s Full-Stack Observability vision.”

Founded in early 2016, Replex is headquartered in Duisburg and has additional locations in Berlin, Leipzig and San Francisco. In 2017, the founders of Replex were part of the 5th SpinLab class and were able to convince investors of their technology in a short time. SpinLab partner Technologiegruenderfonds Sachsen (TGFS) has invested in Replex together with High-Tech Gründerfonds, EnBW New Ventures and Evalue Family Office. One reason why the founders chose Leipzig as another base is, among other things, the higher commitment and loyalty of the employees than in other locations like Berlin. By participating in the SpinLab program, the startup gained access to valuable contacts and top talents.
